My favorite quote as follows: "I struggle to understand the passion directed against the “public option” in health care reform. I have little use for government-controlled bureaucracies, but at least they are vulnerable to my frustrations. My vote, along with that of other dissatisfied consumers, can create change. A near-monopoly like Blue Cross-Blue Shield, on the other hand, is immune to frustration. Doctors, hospitals and patients are subject to its whim."

This guy is either invincibly ignorant or believes his readers are, or possibly both. That has to be one of the most profoundly stupid statements ever written, or at least in the top ten.

A couple of quick comments. First, if the government regulations allowed health insurance carriers to offer their products across state lines then BCBS would not have as much control over the market. But the reason they do is quite frankly of the licensed providers they provide the best product. Second, if things are so bad he does have the alternative to leave the state and move to one with a better carrier. When there is only a public option where will he go, except to have to leave the country? Third, he apparently has never been to the DMV or any other government office for anything in his entire life if he actually believes his vote can change anything in a government bureaucracy. However, his vote can change the situation with BCBS if he supports the GOP plan for health care reform.

Better to be thought a fool.......
