And yet another disciple of the Messiah was facing a very difficult race and decided to bail instead. What is particularly delicious about this retirement is the GOP candidate is not the strongest and we can all remember clearly Mr. Obey swinging that oversized gavel when the House passed Obamacare. While it is likely he would have held onto the seat given the current political climate he was not willing to be sent packing like Tom Daschle.

On another note, it is looking more and more likely that Specter will not even win the Dem primary in Pennsylvania. That is a beautiful thing from an irony perspective but I frankly would rather have Toomey running against Specter than the left winger that may get the nod.
