You are aware that it is the Democratic candidate who has proposed another round of stimulus checks, aren't you? "Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Friday announced an “Emergency Economic Plan” that would give families a stimulus check of $1,000 each.”" http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12237.html

So what? Where do you think that money came from in the first place? Right out of your pocket. A little lesson in basic economics. Businesses do not pay taxes. Only individuals pay taxes. Businesses obtaim money from their customers on a voluntary basis and then goverment takes it away from them at the point of a gun. The US already has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the industrialized world. We the taxpayers pay for that out of our pockets and I for one would much rather voluntarily pay Exxon to generate $19B in profit than have the government take that money from me at the point of a gun and then piss most of it away with useless bureacracy and wasteful spending. Two quotes from Fredric Bastiat: 1) Government creates nothing. 2) Government is that fiction by whcih everyone lives at the expense of everyone else.

If there is an economic crisis in this country it is economic illiteracy.

You are aware that the people who predict rain on Friday are meteorologists, and that the people who study global warming are climatologists, and that equating the two is as accurate and logical as thinking that a chiropractor is the same thing as a spinal surgeon, right?

Aren't these the very same climatolgists that 30 years ago were predicting an ice age was shortly going to be upon us? It seems to me that the only difference between the two is the length of time for their predictions to be proven false. The fact is that the alarmists went from global cooling, until proven wrong, to global warming, until the recent data is beginning to show that this is also wrong. So now we talk about "climate change" that is caused by man. 50,000 actual, real live scientists (none of whom failed out of divinity school) recently signed a petition disputing the claim that man causes global climate change. As I have said before, in 50 years man-made global warming will be viewed as one of the great hoaxes pertetrated on mankind and the proponents (Algore and his syncphants in the media) will be seen as the Charlatan in Chief.
