Same here.  But I've lived in other placed where the national teams were everything.  Have you ever seen Joel Patrick's videos?  I watched one this morning where he brought up some basketball player who said "people just don't know how hard it is to be a black man in the country"... and Joel Patrick pointed out that this player has a net worth of about $250M.  The hyprocracy is astounding.
