I have been trying to get my houseboat engine (250 6 cyl) running well enough to take a ride for over a year and finally did today. It would run rough and not idle low enough to shift into gear. I had the carb rebuilt (by a friend), replaced rotor, distributor cap, plugs, fuel pump, plug wires, points, condenser, coil, checked gas in tank, etc. with no improvement.

After basically giving up on fixing it, I was talking to Greg at Slapout Marine about what it was doing and he said it had to be the carb. I went and got it off the engine and delivered to him Monday and he called me this morning and said that he found a part missing and found the part in the kit left over from the previous rebuild.

After installing today, after a little adjustment, it ran great! Lake Jordan is really pretty right now with the trees turning color.
