Check out Lake Martin Alabama Edition of Lake Magazine July 2012 addition in which Charles Bordon, president of Lake Martin Resource Association states that "LMRA will continue its effort to have a '100 foot proximity' ruling issued in Alabama that will provide protection for property owners and will satisfy the interest of all stake holders. . . . Boaters are encouraged not to operate a vessel or ski, tube or wakeboard in narrow sloughs.  Boat operators should stay at least 100 feet from a shoreline adjacent to a full-time or part-time residence, floating dock, piers, another moored or anchored boat or person in the water.  PWCs should stay away from piers and floating docks.  Common courtesy needs to be practiced" (76).
