Subject:   Who asked for the boat bill ??

The bill was introduced by some legislator who was trying to keep houseboats off of lake Harris - before you know it, they were going statewide then after some arm twisting, they limited it only to Harris, Martin, etc.

The only petitions were against it (& by the thousands), but the money people (Russell and APCO) used their money, influence & lobbyists to buy enough of the legislature to get it passed. Individuals have no rights in Alabama, only the big money people!

The law is so vague that the Marine Police even held off trying to enforce it until the appeal was over. Who knows how they will ever be able to enforce the grandfathering at this point.
