My focus is really on so-called independents that never vote for a GOP candidate because they are so confused in their belief system or they are a liberal in hiding. There is no doubt that there is a small minority of independents that are at odds with the GOP over their big government ways. A lot of the Tea Party denizens would probably call themselves independent rather than Republican.

What I am saying is that what we need to do is to restore the GOP to fiscal sanity which is where they have strayed. I think the Tea Party movement has the potential to do that but also has the potential to reelect Demoncrats by splitting the conservative vote. It is a fine line we are walking and the GOP needs to be very, very careful. So I say with regard to the GOP, "Mend it, don't end it". We can do that but it will take activism and effort.

As for giving money, I only support individual candidates anymore. I will not give money to the RNC or other national political funds. I just can't trust how they spend the money.
