“Nobody’s memory is perfect, people are fallible,” Bromwich said when asked about the different versions of events McCabe and Comey have offered about their tenure together at the bureau.
But, he added, “McCabe has a clear recollection, Comey does not.”
The inspector general’s office at the Justice Department sent a criminal referral to federal prosecutors in DC, recommending that McCabe be prosecuted for lying to the FBI.
McCabe denied that he lied, and his lawyer predicted he would not be prosecuted despite the referral.
