Big Al, I am closer to Martin, just outside of Montgomery. Listen closely for a slight clicking sound when trying to start the engine. Locate the exact location of that clicking sound and you will find a solenoid that feeds the starter a signal. If this device clicks and does not engage the starter, it is probably bad. The solinoid is close or next to a 50 amp red push button breaker on most I/Os. You can jump the two lugs on the soleniod and see if the starter engages (No, that is not a recommendation but just information) and if the starter engages the unit is bad. Don't try this if you are mechanically chalenged! It is better to use a test light to test the device. The unit should have power to ONE terminal, until the key is in the "cranking" position, and then the device will have power on both terminal lugs. Hope this helps.
