We Discovered the source of the muddy water yesterday. Kinda hard to fathom but about 1 mile above Bankhead Paradise there is what appears to be the bottom of the lake floating in large chunks, let me explain before you think I'm nuts. When the water drops each yeard leaves fallon the bank they are covered with water when the lake comes up then silt settles on top of this and the next fall the process is repeated. As the organic matter decays it creates methane gas. Well there are numerous
"floating islands" of this debris some are about 3 to 4 feet thick and up to approx 100 sq ft of surface area this and the silt is leaching out of these "islands". Never seen this before I will talk with Alabama water watch and see if they know anything about this phenomina.
