I am replacing the transom on a 1984 bass boat that has a brand new 115 hp Optimax Mercury. The boat was rated for 115 hp Max when it was new. The new engine is very heavy and I was wondering if anyone knows what a 1984 115 hp would weigh. If the hp rating change that took place years ago that increased the size of engines was done after 1984 I think this boat would not be rated for a present day 115 hp.

If you have any information on this it would be appreciated.
