I have thought about noodles or floats for my Phantom but my fear there is that the added weight and wind resistence will burn down the batteries more quickly. My fear might be unfounded, but I definitely don't want to risk getting close to the low battery alarm. When that happens, the copter uses its GPS to return to its takeoff spot, no matter what's in its way.

Phil Adcock has a Phantom also and is really good with it. He is married to Toni Adcock, also a realtor here, and also on this forum under alias "Toni" - she's at ReMax Around the Lake.  Phil is a wealth of knowledge on the subject of quadcopters.
