September was the month of the top water lures . The month of the ' puppy' since that was my go to plug then . Large schools feeding on top mornings and evenings were common place . October has been the month for suspended fish with practically no surface activity . I have an old Falcon 6 foot MH pistol grip rod that I think is perfect for vertical jigging spoons .  I have  still been getting a good many with the worm and some with a crank bait and some with a little slash bait , but the spoon rod has taken the place of the top water rod .  A couple of days ago I got a half a dozen small stripers that were 2 to 4 pounds along with the typical spots on the spoon .

My worm rod is a falcon Lowrider LFC-5-1610s . They call it the finesse jig special . It has a beat up old Revo on it . My topwater rod was a Falcon LFC-2-169 . I nearly cried a couple of weeks ago when it snapped while I was stupidly high sticking a 2 pound spot into the boat . This was  a sweet little rod . I called Falcon rods and they are sending basically the same rod but now it only comes as the Lowrider Salt model . So I got a new okuma Serrano salt water safe reel to go on it . My spinning rods are the Falcon LFS-2-169 and a St.croix premier 7.5 foot medium light. That is what I carry on the boat every time out . When the surface bite was good a carried a 10 foot 7 weight fly rod too . Funny thing is  ,I manage to use them all every trip .
