In my mind the only argument you are making is for the exploration of alternative sources of energy, not drilling oil wells. That is the only thing that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Our oil reserves are supposed to be for actual shortages of oil, not just high prices.


Yes, in the short term this will impact our "recovery" , but in the long term, it is just a blip on the screen. The calls for drilling is just political opportunism.
