I just don't see the Republicans as being the solution to all our ills. Nothing that they've proposed so far is going to make much of a difference, and they can't even agree within their own party; and they haven't been able to sell it to the Democrats.
Everything that is going on right now is not just as a result of Obama and the Dems in Congress. We've been moving in this direction for a long time -- not only with domestic spending, but with funding these wars, and bad monetary policy. I think a lot of the problem lies within our culture itself -- we want it all and we can't afford it all. We've lost our will to do for ourselves. Just like people not saving for retirement (counting on SS to fund their retirement) or people buying houses they couldn't afford on their income and with no down payment.
In my mind, the solution is not one party over the other, but it will take both parties working together to solve the problems. I'm not confident that this is going to happen.
