I trust someone who was raised around guns  - not someone who in a panic has run out to grab him some protection.  Hopefully they will get some training, but probably not since if any ol hick can use one surely some of these overeducated can. 

Sad part is that they are more likely to  become a gun statistic when they panic in the night and kill a family member or want to go waving it around in the wrong part of town to make them feel safe - when the wrong person will take it away from them, probably kill them, and then go on to use it for additional crimes.
