But, it's clear that the Republicans are not going to get a wholesale approval of all the cuts that they want to do. And it's pretty clear that the Democrats are not going to be able to side step that major cuts are going to be made. So they need to get on with it, instead of spending time on "quality" sound bites.

And you are right about the American voters needing to hold politican accountable.
Closing down the government will serve no useful purpose. They just need to move off the dime and get the budget done.
