I'm always a bit amused when a politician wants to shut down this or that agency, because most of the time, they are only thinking about some portion of the agency's responsiblilities.  They usually only know a small portion of what a given agency is responsible for, and not the total picture.  I doubt once he is in charge, Perry will be talking about eliminating it.  But yes, they could transfer responsibilites for the nukes to a different agency and perhaps that is what they will do.  As far as Perry in charge of anything, I am a bit disappointed.  I suspect his appointment is some kind of payback, becasue he certainly isn't among the best and brightest.
