That's something we can agree on -- too much money is spent on campaigns. I personally thought the BO 30 minute "infomercial" was a bit much. I think I'd like to see a ceiling on campaign spending and let both parties get creative about how it gets spent. I think AUCATZ made the point in this or another thread that in the age of the internet communications, it's unthinkable how much they spend.

I have a friend who is about to run for the VA House of Representatives and he's already wondering how he's going to raise the money he needs to get elected. I once attended something called the Capitol Hill Workshop where they parade in various members of the Hill and Hill Staff to talk about how things work. I'll never forget a Congressman who came to talk said from the first day he took office, he had to get a $1000 per day in campaign contributions to be able to run again.
