I'm not condeming Palin for sticking up for her daughter. I don't blame her for making an issue of it with David Letterman. I don't necessarily agree with her views about it impacting young women's self esteem everywhere, but hey, that's her right as a Mom.

What I don't understand is why she is trying to use it as political fodder. Making a comment that because Obama told the press to leave his children alone, that they don't pick on them. This has nothing to do with Obama, but that hasn't been done "for the other side".

And I'm simply saying that ANY adult in public life should not use their children or let anyone else use their children . These kids are not in public life (except Palin's daughter that had the baby -- she seems to be using her mother's position for a public platform), and they should not be the brunt of public jokes, discussion or photo ops. They should just be allowed to be kids.
