Bought 4 different brands of Lump Charcoal to compare with standard Kingsford off-the-shelf. And, tried one this weekend on steak. It was Royal Oak.
Ready to cook from Chimney in about 12 minutes. Easy.
Cooked 4 huge steaks over a THIN covering of coals that were very hot. High heat lasted about 2 hours after steak was removed. No taste/little ash.
Goodbye Kingsford.
