The bass will find places to spawn where nobody will think to look.  There are often beds in a corner of our slough, and most fishermen tend to fish point to point and skip everything in between.  They don't bother with the bare flat where you would be lucky to catch a small bluegill most of the year.  Besides, since Martin is a spot lake, most of the bass are spawning in deeper water, like on the secondary point everyone skips going from one point to the next.  They also pound the banks when the spotted bass are behind them in deeper water gettin' it on undisturbed.
