Your lower unit/drive is designed for oil. Probably 80/90wt. At no time should you have water in it. Yea, it may not freeze (probably not) but it is not suppose to have water in it. ONLY oil. Get it fixed during the winter so that you don't have to completely replace it another day. There are many shops around Lake Martin that can do this for you. Should you need me, let me know please. Your problem will only get worse over time.
