I buy frozen bait fish(chum) and put it in a container with holes tied to the boat and throw it overboard. The boat drifts with the current. The warm water melts the chum and creates a slick to attract the sharks. I use similar cut fish for bait and let the lines our without any weight. Catch Blacktip sharks which are around 4-5 feet. Because we are drifting can only put rods out on 1 side.
They fight and come up out of the water.

I use only circle hooks and release all the fish caught. I use a long handle wire cutter to cut the hook at the mouth. The hooks are metal which will rust from the salt water. You allowed to keep daily 1 per person but no more than 2 per boat. They are edible.

They are identified easily by the black tip on their dorsal fin.
