MAV, I have typed this info several times in emails, etc. Sorry, a short version for now. Ethanol produces less energy than gasoline, and results in less fuel economy as well. I believe, and have read that a gallon of gasoline with 15% ethanol mixed/blended will result in a leaner burn and produce more cylinder temp. and pressure. Many suppliers are blending 15% ethanol with the gasoline. we are seeing more exhaust valve/seat failures now, and I believe this is why. As a safegaurd, we are reducing ignition timing by a couple of degrees, as well as creating richer fuel mixtures to combat this problem. So far, it seems to work ok for now, but the engine produces a little less power. Most of the EFI systems seem to more or less "Take care of themselves".
