Ok, just picked up the new venison from Reed's processing. I need everyone's best chili recipe. I can never get it just right. I kinda like the texture they have at Wendy's but they never have enough meat.

Kinda like the texture of Wendy's chili???? I guess when you are at the gulf you dine at Captain D's unless you want a feast and go to Red Lobster.....

I'm a simple man. But texture does not equal ingredients.

And if you have some of your tomatoes and peppers waiting to go along with the venison, I predict good eatin'. I have always used the Carroll Shelby bag from the grocery store, but I also like a nice box of Ripple of last weeks vintage with it.

Aye capt, for this time I decided to go veggie soup:
Two pounds ground venison
One chicken cooked boiled to perfection and chopped
The broth from above
Tomato and okra (fresh frozen or frozen fresh)
Bell pepper (likewise)
Greenbeans (likewise)
4 cans cream corn (I don't have enough space to grow corn)
An onion or two
Black eye peas if I have them

I will give your chili mixes a try. If the economy keeps slipping I plan to (1) learn how to fish (2) plant a bigger garden

I would suggest trying some of those recipes for squirrel, I understand you have a target-rich environment....

Just happened to make a pot last night. I rarely make it the same way twice and it's easy. Last night I put a pound of hamburger and also a pound of sausage. Used a can of navy beans, black beans and 2 cans of tomatoes, one diced the other Rotel. Pack and a half on chili mix. The Rotel gave it some good spice and all the meat was great. Oh yea, an onion with the meat.
First time to use sausage, I thought it was quite tasty.
