I see the variance is working quite well.  We are already up to 480'.  Oops, that is the regular winter pool level, sorry.

Its at 480.12 right now and they have limited turbine runs in the schedule.  I suspect with all the rain that it will rise pretty rapidly.  Other than their slow response during the drought a few years ago it seems to me that APCO has done  much better job with managing the lake levels.

More importantly, I hope we are granted a new rule where the winter curve is at 483 instead of 480.  That gives me year round water at my house which would be great.  Won't work for my boat but it will for canoes, etc. and will definitely look better than the mud pit I see every winter.

Nope.  Love the house and the quiet on the cove we are in.  Also we bought at the perfect time with low interest rates and only paid $212K.  Also love our neighbors, most of whom are year rounders and keep an eye on our place.  Just would be nice to be able to get out in a kayak or canoe during the winter which is doable at 483.  Some day when I retire I may move to a place on deep water, but you never know.

Came up 1 foot in the last 4 days with minimal rain. Not bad. Glad I am not doing any ramp work this late.
Interesting tidbit. I have a 30' poured concrete boat ramp out front that only uncovers at about the 480' mark. No way to get to it during Winter water levels due to newer construction/landscaping. But, at some point a prior owner knew enough about levels to build a Winter ramp that was usable at 480'. Bet he didn't check the web for FERC/APC activity. Bet he ate Crappie regularly too.
