I was just sittiing here reading down all these post, trying to shore up some opinions and it dawned on me what has happened. We all have one thing in common, and that is BOATING. What I see is a boating community (if you will call it that) suddenly divided into groups, and each group is pointing at the other. CAT is sad to see this! I have made friends on this forum and all around the lake. Some have small boats, some big, and some loud and fast. They are all good people! And, they for the most part respect each other. Some like to wakeboard, cruise on the pontoon, ride around with a bunch of power behind them or fish. Some think others get in there way, and some don't like the noise or whatever it is about the big boats. But, we all like boating! Should we have to divide ourselves the way we have? We visit the same places. We enjoy the same thing, and we buy and ride in whatever boat we can afford suites our needs or want. Some of buy big houses, some buy boats. My utmost respect goes out to all that have voiced your opinions and anger. Should I be allowed to continue to visit Lake Martin with my family in the boat that I own now, (go-fast boat with family of four), I will try to continue to respect you all as I have in the past. The last thing I want to do is lose the the friends I have made on the Lake. I respect the interest each has in the type of boating they enjoy.

(Taken from Cat's post: LOOK AT US NOW!!!!!)

Fast boat,
Slow boat,
Fishing boat,
Ski boat.

Small boat,
Big boat,
loud boat,
quiet boat.

Look! There's one that pulls a skier!
Look! There's one catching a fish!

Some like to speed,
Some like to cruise,
Some like to wake,
Some like to tube.

See the pontoon and all the folks,
See the wakeboarders with all their jokes,
There are some who take it slow and cruise,
There are others, who like to booze.

"We visit the same places,
We enjoy the same things,
We buy and ride in whatever boat
our money can bring." (Cat, I took the liberty of rearranging your words from your post)

I think I like the people most,
Who respect my lake, no matter what the boat.
And even though we're different and beyond compare,
We all adore Lake Martin - and in that we share.

Good night.

As I've stated many times before, the lake is all about having fun and respecting the rights of others.....it's a two way street.

As Winston Churchill stated: "Perhaps it is better to be irresponsible and right than to be responsible and wrong."

I'm not sure how this applies to this post, but I thought it sounded good.
