I just got off the phone with someone in the KNOW. She gave me some important infor. Go to www.alabama.gov. Look for Riley's picture in the upper righthand corner. Then click on: Visit Governor Riley Online. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Contact. This page will give you all the numbers, address, and a e-mail link to the Governor's office. She also said, whichever option you choose, to be sure to tell why you are contacting the Governor's Office. Be sure to tell them this is in regards to HB756! She said there is alot of controversy on HB756!!!

Ran out of room. Call everyone you know to respond to this. Brothers, sisters, nephews, long lost cousins. I don't care. This is our last hope. NOT posting anything on the Forum, I know the enemies are watching.

I am with you Mr Plott. I was at the lake Saturday and stopped by and looked at a Sea Ray 280 Sundancer and 300 Sundancer. I pulled up the spec sheet on the 300 and this cruiser weighs in at a whopping 12,900 lbs, dry!!! This S O B should part the water like Moses parted the Red Sea. At 25 mph this bad boy would produce a wake that would splinter a dock and put pontoon boats up in the yard...

Strong words there... "enemies;" "p! ss everybody off on Lake Martin;" "produce a wake that would splinter a dock and put pontoon boats up in the yard..."

And you wonder why people don't like you?

I wonder which one of these was the person who said that I needed " a bullet put in his head?" Anybody want to claim that post, here in the land of your "enemies?"

Very mature responses from Baja and Scarab. I pretty much remained neutral on this issue however, after reading just those 2 posts, with attitudes like that, perhaps this bill is needed.

Longtimer, these are your typical rich, spoiled, jackasses that have never been told they couldnt have something. There is no place on Lake Martin for those 28 ans 30 foot boats. It is rediculious. Tell ya what i would like to see happen. I would love to see all the people that visit the lake and used to visit the lake before all these big boats entered the picture.....and all these big boat owners take a vote on whether the big boats should stay or go. It wouldnt even be close. There are WAY more people out there that wants these boats gone than there are that want these boats to stay.

"these are your typical rich, spoiled, jackasses that have never been told they couldnt have something."

WOW! What a bold statement you make to generalize a group of people who are against the boat ban. You refer to them as if you know that they are rich, spoiled, jacka$$es when in reality, most of them have busted their a$$es to have what they have and have NEVER been handed anything on a silver platter!

these are the same people who have been telling the rest of us what responsible, considerate boaters they are.

Thanks for the name calling, I really appreciate that. First of all, you do not even know most of us but yet again here we are all being grouped together. So since I am a rich, spoiled, your know what you said... that has never been told I couldn't have something, I will fill you in. This is not a sob story this is life and maybe it will put it in to perspective just how we are common people too. My dad died when I was a baby, and my mom raised three kids by herself, working as a clerk for my whole life. Nothing has been handed to me. I know what Welfare cheese and peanut butter taste like and I was very happy to have it. Instead of asking for expensive toys at Christmas one of my priorities was always new jeans. But I would never wish to have grown up any other way !!! I graduated high school and immediatly joined the armed forces for 9 years. I have since earned an associates, bachelors and soon to be masters degree, all on my own. Nothing has every been handed to me. So before you go and place us all in the same grouping, maybe you should know who you are talking about. I have a large boat because I could not afford a lake house, not even a lot because of the real estate prices. The lake is the one thing for my family to truly enjoy and to build memories. I am ashamed that you feel that you feel that we are handed everything, because last time I checked this is the only way for us to be able to spend a weekend at the lake and still have some of the pleasures of home.

I also like how you voice "There are way more people out there that wants these boats gone than there are that want these boats to stay"... I take it that you are a statistician now and you have taken a poll... funny I wasn't contacted.

Enjoyable post ALSCN. I also have had nothing handed to me. My family and I can't buy lake property and move to the lake for a different reason than yours. We choose the other banned boat catagory because we travel during short vacations with ours and do poker runs helld for charity and other organizations. I work 50-60hrs a week, and enjoyed the time we spent at the lake.

Now, there have been several post made on my site that involved BOTH sides of the story in the past few weeks. Any and all, and it goes about half and half, that were in the grey area we're deleted. Sorry I missed deleting some along the way, and I appolgize. I set my alarm clock every morning for 5:00am for 3 weeks so that I could delete bitter post, from both sides. And there were plenty to delete from both sides. The only reason you see those post not deleted now is because this is over. The message board on my site is just that, a message board and while you all are visiting the site, order a shirt why don't you.
