This post says a lot more about you than it does Neal.

I don't care for any talk show shock jocks; left or right in their presentation......All they do is stir the puddin' and try to justify their spin.

The real reporters with the real deal are with our National Reporting media be it the Washington Post, New York Times or televised with the National syndicates.

I do not want to log on to something that requires my personal registration information and is not recognized . They generally try to use it to bring some sort of accrededation to themselves. There is such a thing as propaganda if there is not double checks and approval level as to what they are reporting

I am not saying this is true for what LTL posted since I did not want to go thru the registration process of an unknown entity. Mabye, I am paraoid with ignorance.

Maybe LTL will be kind enough to paraphrase their point or major educational points for all of us.

I assume this post was tongue in cheek and you don't really believe that the mainstream media (MSM) actually provides unbiased news?!?!? What is different about them and radio talk shows is basic honesty. If you were to talk to someone like Neal Boortz (who I personnaly don't care for) he will unabashedly tell you that his is biased and has strong opinions. You have no doubt where he is coming from when takes a position on an issue. The MSM operates under a self-proclaimed banner of impartiality that only they and those who agree with their agenda actually are delusional enough to believe. Having said that, I agree with you about ot registering with websites you don't know or trust.

... about. Registration? So far as I know you can view the video without registering for anything. It is on several sites that are free to all and can be viewed without doing anything other than clicking on them. If you want to post or comment you have to register, but not to watch. I just linked to it on a site devoted to Boortz fans. I am not going to try to paraphrase something that Mr. Parks said so elequontly. I could not do it justice. As far as him being a 'shock jock', as far as I kow he is not a 'jock' at all. But he is a proud veteran that speaks his mind. Do yourself a favor and go to youtube.com and search on Bob Parks.

As for all those 'reputable' new organizations go feb, they are the MOST biased of all the news outlets. Try visiting Brent Bozzell's site, Media Research Center. Each day they evaluate all the news outlets and point out bias where they see it. I don't expect you to see it however. We all have our predjudices, but I look at everything with an open mind, and then form my own opinions.

And jlazc, I wouldn't be so proud about what that first post said about you.

Don't remember ever seeing you round these parts before, but I am glad you pointed out the obvious. I wasn't going to that much trouble with it. Besides it isn't like you will change anybodies mind. I just send them to MRC and let them figure it out for themselves if they are so inclined.

People love to point to Oreilly and Hannity to 'prove' the FOX News bias. Never mind that both are commentators, NOT reporters. Boortz, whom I do like, has offered a substantial reward to anyone that can show bias in any FOX hard news story. It is like The Amazing Randi and his reward for anybody that can prove ANYTHING paranormal, especially psychics.

And feb, I went a got a link to Bob Parks on youtube and posted it her for you.

You know nothing about me and I am proud of what I said. For your information, I am relatively conservative have spent over 20 percent of my natural life as a Military Officer (still an inactive reserve); I'm proud of that too.

People like Neil Boortz, Bill Maher, Rush Limbaugh, Ed Schultz (and many more) use emotion to stir situations that often are not backed by fact; they also add SERIOUS spin. I choose to not take part in that game, and I would (and do) refer to all of the formentioned as idiots.

That said, I don't disagree that most of the media presents is biased (at least to some extent). We have become a nation ruled by the "sound bite", and I have no realistic solution.

I understand the skepticism about some commentators. I would say that I have listened to people like Rush, Bil Bennet and other conservative commentators for many years and I beileve there is a fact basis for what they say although I may not always agree with how they go about making their point. My main point was that they are what they are and are open about it. As a friend's Dad used to say, believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. My experience is that they say what I am thinking and I believe that what I think is based on facts and not on raw emotion. What I particularly resent about the mainstream media is their protestation about impartiality when in fact they are very agenda driven.

In your first paragraph you said that the "real reporters" are the National Media, New York Times, and Washington Post---are you kidding?? I believe you worked for the DoD as a career, but I do believe that you live too close to the Beltway Idiots--you better hurry up and get out of there soon. Next you'll be telling us that you're proud of Harry "We've Lost the War" Reid and Nancy (I can't think of printable words to describe this idiot) Pelosi. Hold on, Katie Couric (sp) will be on in 30 minutes to provide you with her special unbiased attempt at reading the propaganda produced by her masters and handlers.

Come on, I know you're just joshing us!!

You make good points and I respect your analysis. For those who can listen and use discretion, have at it....... I can't stomach the bias from either direction, and I don't care about getting positive or negative feedback from the media on my opinions. Cheers!

I will not take back a word I posted. I would say I am entitled to my personal view point.

Threre are some checks and balances to the mainstream media.

I am not sure there is for the rest of it.

LIke I said before, accountability wil come with history.

Please do not get me started or you will not like the outcome on what I will probably say on the Forum. We often attempt but sometimes fail to keep it germain to the Lake.

I agree, the mainstream media has checks and balances now. It's called the internet, and they can't stand it. As little as 10 years ago they had the monopoly. Dan Rather goes to air with a false story backed up by probably the worst attempt at forgery ever tried. CBS editors allowed it and within hours the blogosphere is proving them to be forged. This month CBS has to apologize for Cutie Catie's plagerism. Jason Blair ring a bell. The other plagerists names slip by me now. And of course some don't even bother to copy somebody elses, they just make it up.

I know this wont change feb's mind, just like nobody is going to change one of my sisters. She is BIG lefty but we love here anyway...lol.

Sorry my cat stepped on the key board.

Dan Rather and the CBS news were incorrect and did not double check their source. I personally think he lost his job and credibility as a result. A rather (or shall we say Rather mistake, pun) stupid mistake to loose a career over.

The checks and balances led to the truth correcting the mistake which supported the document was not original and was a fake.

No one and not even the White House ever refuted the accuracy of the allegation but only the document itself.

It will always leave me wondering whether the facts were correct or not. Either way, it is an insignificant matter.

Gentlemen, I will be the first to admitt I am wrong if history proves this administration to be on the right course. I do hope I am wrong.

I do have an adverse opinion of the current administration and the way our Nation is going. This is my honest and personal opinion.

I hope you will respect my view as I will yours.

I do not know why I am debating and issue which I did not read and may even agree with which started this thread.

go to the URL above and look at the report.

The issue I have with your defense of the MSM is that you insist that they are unbiased, which they certainly are NOT. The conservative media--Rush, Hannity, etc., are every bit as biased as the MSM---but they admit it.

How would you like to be a soldier (Marine) in Irag tonight listening to your national leaders like Harry Reid declare the war lost?? Idiots like that don't deserve your support, FEB.
