That is a post I made back earlier this year because there was no activity. No controversy. No comments. No questions. Nothing.
Several responders said "it is Summer, just wait for the water to go down".
They were right. The water is going down, the election is coming up, and the Forum is heating up.
Bruce, thanks for hanging in there for the Forum after the recent "fire" and lack of visitations.

My understanding is they will be outlawing wake board boats due to the nature of "The Wake" and the bass boats due to the dangerous speeds of the small craft "Speed kills". These really are the dangerous folks out here. Anybody else here this?

Yeah, Don' leave us pontooners out, we are very dangerous. We are always digging around in the cooler for that next cold beverage and not paying attention to where we going....

River-rat you can forget about the bassboats, it will never happen. Example; 100' from pier rule was beaten down by the bass people. A speed limit will probably come in its stead. No wakeboard boats ban either. Poker runs will be outlawed and any other event that calls for excessive speeds. Except for a few pwc incidents the only misshaps lately have been at night where stupidity and alchohol over-rule common sence.

I think all motor boats should be banned in favor of GREEN paddle power boats only...............

I have been reading several 'Propsals", as you mention. This is CRAZY. We'll see what happens. Way too much going on.

When I moved to Texas and started fishing I first experienced a Texas fishing boat. I grew up in the NW and Pennsylvania and if you came to fishing spot and someone was there you grumbled to yourself that you should have gotten up earlier and moved on. In Texas fishing is having a bass boat with a 200hp motor and binoculors so you can see where the fish are biting. They then zoom up at 50mph, drop to idle and cast into the middle of your lines. It took me a while to get used to that.
