So this is to one individual (I just hope this adult (?) reads this.)
It is not a good idea going 2/3 throttle in a pontoon with a 6 or 7 year old boy on his knees on the front of the boat looking under the boat to watch the water pass by the pontoons.
With the good weather, come idiots.
Is it possible for me to make a citizens arrest?

..not sure about the citizens arrest but I am sure it must be illegal for ANY rider on a pontoon to be on the front OUTSIDE
the rail. I have seen this many times..for example where a child would be riding on the front with their feet dangling down into the water...if they fall into the water while the pontoon boat is underway, the child (adult, anybody) would be immediately channelled into the prop....I cannot imagine that anybody would be so stupid as to allow this...but it does happen and all too frequently!

I'm called the "Boat Nazi" because I won't let anyone hang their limbs from anywhere, and I make everyone sit appropriately in my boat.
In a 25 foot pontoon boat @5mph you have less than three seconds to completely stop the boat if anyone falls underneath the front. At 10mph <1.5 seconds, and at 20mph less than 3/4 sec. Not Safe at ANY Speed (Wasn't that a book?)

Now Don't misunderstand...I agree with all of you BUT I don't think I've ever heard of that happening in the 30 years I've been on the lake.
