Does anyone know of someone that could enclose our existing deck into a covered, shingled roofed screened area? We are in Crane Hill on the Cullman side of the lake. Trying to gather information for quotes.
Thanks

Hey fajita...

You might want to sign up and post this exact message on my lake forum. I think you'll get a lot better response there. Many of the locals frequent it and there is a lot of information to share. We always look forward to new members.

Hope to see you there.

Bill

Marty Marks is a local (Crane Hill) contractor. He built my lake house 3 years ago and was very reasonably priced and trustworthy. He is a carpenter by trade and is willing do large or small jobs. He works in the Cullman and Smith Lake area. Decks and screened porches are his specialty. His phone number is 256-339-0700. You can call me at 205-757-7060 if you need a personal reference.

As you stated -- You might want to sign up and post this exact message on my lake forum. I think you'll get a lot better response there.

Well, I don't know you but I'll tell you what happened.

I didn't mean to post that message here. I meant to send it as a private email to the gentleman who posted the message. The 'send email' page is part of this website and the forms are almost identical to the ones used to post messages.

No, I wouldn't think it is right to try to direct traffic to my forum publicly. Privately it doesn't matter at all.

Unfortunately this website does not provide a way to delete your own messages. As a result I couldn't remove it once I realized my mistake. So I marked it as 'inappropriate' to get the forum owners attention and perhaps have them delete it.

They apparently looked at it and decided it was NOT inappropriate as they removed the flag I had set and let the message be. I'd actually like to have it removed as I did not intend to post it here.

I'd like to see a way for us to remove our own messages but that is not inside of my control.

Now, since you decided that you had to make such a big deal out of this I'll answer your question.

No, I don't think it is 'unethical' to post a message advertising my forum. There is certainly a lot more discussion taking place there.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'unethical'. If I had paid advertising on my forum then yes, I could understand what you may think is unethical... but I do not. I'm not stealing anyones business. Many of the members of my forum visit and post on this same forum. There's no reason why people can't look at more than one.

My post here was purely a mistake that I could not correct on my own and was unable to get anyone else to do it for me.

Unethical? No. It's not unethical. Stop by. You're welcome just as anyone else is.

Bill
