As a service to Palin fans, the results of the straw vote at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference was as follows:
Mitt Romney 439 (24%), Ron Paul 438 (24%), Sarah Palin 330 (18%), Newt Gingrich 321 (18%), Mike Huckabee 80 (4%), Tim Pawlenty 54 (3%), Mike Pence 58 (3%), Rick Santorum 41 (2%), Gary Johnson 3 (1%)
Palin would do about the same if there was a straw vote with Obama, Biden and Palin. Poor gal just can't win even with her Just Say No speech.
Roomney carries alot of baggage from his Bain days. You guys need to support Paul. Even I find him interesting.

it is rather amusing that both of you are obviously speechless with your feeble comments. Even you must be shocked that Missy Palin came in 3rd just a tad higher than the former speaker of the house who was pushed out by his own conservatives.

I'm not surprised, not a fan of Sarah leading the ticket, although she is better suited for the top job than the current occupant of 16oo Pennsylvania Avenue, and probably knows more about nukes. I believe she is the near perfect replacement for Michael Steele at the RNC. She can assist with the development and articulation of the message, and probably raise more money for the RNC than Soros is willing to forward to the Dems. Haven't yet felt the connection with Romney, nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with Massachusetts conservatives still being left of true center. Ron Paul has a solid message, and principles, just a shame he, by failing to draw reps in, has allowed his positions to be identified as fringe. That reflects on his ability to lead. Heard from some D friends that Newt is the Anti Christ, so there may be something there, I like Pawlenty, but the MN cold warps clear thinking, don't know Pence or johnson, Huck was a flash and gone, and my memory of Santorum is he's kind of a single issue mad dog. We all need somebody with integrity, a concise honest empathetic communicator, with the intelligence to recognize and make the hard choices, and the fortitude to lead us through the necessary changes. I don't care if the name is followed by R, D, I, or C as long as that person is constitutionally eligible to serve and meets my criteria.

Not surprised at all ... I doubt I would support her for the nomination either ... but that is not the point ... these straw polls are meaingless at this point.
Remember that this early in the 2008 election, no one gave Obama a chance and was barely polling at all ... doubt he was even 3rd. the same goes for Clinton and Carter.
So keep doing your cutting and pasting ... you are doing a good job and should get a gold star.
