Congratulations to Rush on his 4th marriage. This time the 59 year old married a 33 year old sweety. The Conservatives go through wives like they do Chevas but they do believe in family values for others.

Rush paid Elton John reportedly $1,000,000 to perform at the wedding. Guess gay bashing is just for his audience. There is still hope for America.

It is revolting to think that Rush could get Elton perform for money - I thought homosexuals were above that... Maybe there is hope for America?

-I continue to fail to see why leftists/liberals/progressives/etc must take every opportunity to jump on some right winger for not living up to family and moral values. It's like saying "hey you guys should be like us, striving for NO family and moral values" ...but somehow, liberals don't see this.

-For every failing guy/gal on the right, there is a failing guy/gal on the left, and vice-versa. OK, let's take the example of radio personalities: Rush just married #4: Larry King just divorced #8.

-All these political/media/financial celebrities live in a world awash in cynicism and temptations that most of cannot even comprehend. Most of us are not surprised when someone fails; and certainly don't rejice in it; it's now to the point that we're surprised when someone does not fail.

-It is beyond me why any of us view them as more than just technicians that are suppose to efficiently execute their political/media/military/financial responsibities.

- Sad, but there seems to be few moral heroes left! ----because of the left?

My understanding is his wife decided to leave him. You only live once so why be alone. If he can get a 33 year old, good for him. Now if he was out sleeping around the way democrats do even when their wives have cancer and then get another women pregnant ... that would be rather disgusting ... wouldn't you agree?

Again, just another example of how this would be a resume enhancer if he were from the left. But since Rush is not a politician and nothing he can do will impact my life I am not all that concerned about his inability to stay married. Unlike Algore who has no redeeming values, at least Rush has some and apparently the ability to stay married is not one of them. Let's hope for both their sakes that this one lasts.

As for Elton performing, which is worse, Rush inviting him to perform or Elton abandoning all his alleged leftist, liberal, gay-agenda beliefs for a few bucks? Who is the bigger hypocrite? As a faithful listener to his show I can tell you Rush is no homophobe. He adamantly opposes the radical, gay agenda that wants to normalize a lifestyle that isn't the norm and redefine marriage. Apparently Elton could live with those views....at least for a million bucks. Amazing what a leftist will abandon for money, of course assuming he has any core principles in the first place.

GF, you're just jealous because you weren't invited. I heard it was at the Breakers in Palm Beach and must have been fabulous.

I LOVE IT!.....WHO CARES! I DON'T!...and probably many more people don't care...I wish I could afford to have Elton John perform at my wedding (however, I am not planning on getting married again)...and there is the answer...he can afford it and he doesn't care about his political standing...he just likes his music...or perhaps his young wife does and he is just trying to make her happy...for a couple of years! HA!

According to an article I just read, Rush and Elton have in common that they don't believe in gay marriages, but apparently Rush (and Elton) have no problem with gay civil unions.

Additionally, they both believe in capitalism -- Elton was paid $1M to perform.

If Rush keeps on his martial track record, he'll soon be rivaling Larry King. I love it that the wives keep getting progressively younger.

Forget the issues, let's talk about Limbaughs' marital past.. There are a few of us Conservatives that have been married to the same wife for a long time, like 44 years.. My wife, a very capable, accomplished, independent business founder/owner votes conservative by choice.. I'm a combat vet, conservative and think you are just wrong headed..

What's funny about Rush is he has said several times he didn't want to marry again. I am sure he had no problem finding female companionship (if you know what I mean) but apparently this lady changed his mind.

I had heard Elton was opposed to gay marriage but frankly did not believe it at the time. Maybe he has more sense than I give him credit. But his clothes.....oh my goodness....they just don't work for me. I mean really, feathers and all that!! I wouldn't be caught dead......oh, wait a second....um....uh...I never notice other guy's clothes....not sure where that came from.....uh...never mind.....

44 years, congratulations, and I thought you were a youngster. I respect your right to disagree with me for that is the strength of our country. While we may never agree on politics, we do agree on the sanctamony of marriage. I, too, have a marriage to the same woman among many friends who are on 2nd and 3rd marriages.

Are you enjoying that government run health plan Medicare and collecting that socialist pension plan called Social Security?

feelings about his costumes -- a bit over the top.
But, it seems that as he has aged, it's all suits and ties.
Once he got sober, he seems to have left his drag queen days behind. He credits Ryan White with motivating him to get sober.
You may recall that Ryan White was the child who was kicked out of school when he had AIDS.

Silly, the are conservatives and have high ethical and moral standards so they refuse any money. They just have a different definition of family values which includes multiple divorces.

I am sure you can relate to them.

This means at his next marriage, it will be "Lady GAGA" (not sure how her name is spelled) or her daughter.....as you know, men marry MUCH younger!

GF,
-Medicare is a "government-paid" heath payment system, not a heath care system, so we still get good medical care. the government just pays for it; when we get the "government-run" heath system over the coming years, good medical care will become less and less for most of us.
-True that Social Security is a socialist pension, ---but not for most of teh people on this forum. For most of us it is a socialst tax system. I would have to live to be 83 to get out all the money I and my emploers have paid into the system
-Now, let's get back to Rush and John....

You really do have a bad case of class envy .... but then again, that is what makes a good socialist liberal. Not succeeding in life and wanting to take and penalize others that have.

Lets not start going down your class envy path again ... you have already shown everyone that you are a spinless liar. So quit now before you embarrass yourself further.

I am really jealous and you know it so why do you continually embarrass me by brining it up on the Forum where my friends follow your postings? You need to cut me a break as the pressure you put on me is overwhelming. My wife now calls me spineless and some friend called and nicknamed me Jellyfish. I may have to give up GoneFishin and become Jellyfish. You are so perceptive that the Forum waits anxiously for your postings. I hope you share them with you family so thy can be as proud of you and you are of yourself.

Cheers.

We could just add it to the other 10 or 12 name you used to use and have all disappear as many predicted. As I have said many times, I honestly feel sorry for you. I NEVER start the attacks ... I did leave you alone and cut you a break ... but when you start in again, I have to remind you of who you really are.

Well, no.. I don't enjoy Social Security checks, but yes I do cash them.. Been paying into this Ponzi scheme since I was 15 years old, over 50 years.. Wish I could have opted out a long time ago and invested in Fidelity Destiny.. Might pay for more than the weekend boat gas.. And at last check, Fidelity was solvent, and Medicare and the Social Security Administration are going broke..

Warm regards, Gone Fishing, but socialist programs appear to routinely fail. Or maybe you can set me straight on this wild right wing observation??

Is that the Destiny fund that was recommended by that First Command group? I looked at Destiny funds from 1985 and it looks like you would be slightly ahead. What am I missing? They really took advantage of young military with their 50% first year load and free socials. At least you will receive your social security for life. And you can take that to the bank.

GF, you should know better than to compare the value of SS versus other forms of retirement savings. All you have to do is look at Galveston County, Texas that opted out of SS in 1980 before Congress closed that loophole. Workers in Galveston County get anywhere from double to triple what they would have gotten from SS. Those making more than $75K when they retired get almost $55K per year while SS would only pay them around $19K. And this is just from 1980 to today. Granted social security will pay as long as you live but that won't be all that long since you will have to eat dog food to survive.

There are a number of very accurate calculators that compare what you would get at retirement from SS versus a private account funded only by our payments under FICA by the time I retire. In my case I expect to pay around $487K in SS taxes in my lifetime (based on current rates) and receive a benefit of $2,900 per month at retirement. Assuming I retire at 67 and live to age 77 and I took that money and invested in a combination of stocks and bonds my monthly benefit would be around $24,000. So I give up $21,000 per month for being forced at the point of a gun to participate in your most valued program. If I lived to 87 my annual payments would be $13,000 per month (or $10,000 more than SS). I would have to live age 151 in order for my nest egg to produce your much ballyhooed $2,900 per month, and that assumes no growth in principal after I retire. You see how silly you sound when you crow about SS?

Even worse is the average rate of return on my investment in social security is -1%. I can only imagine how well that would work out for a mutual fund to have that record. In fact, since January 1980 the average rate of return in equities is 13.9%, even with the current correction. I know a typical libtard would gladly exchange 13.9% for -1% if it came from their generous and benevolent government. But for most of us thinking folks we would prefer the more reasonable rate of return and an actual asset that we own versus a promise from a bankrupt government program.

But to make matters even worse (as if the above weren't bad enough), the fact is my negative return isn't even real because the government puts every penny from my SS tax into the general fund and spends it (not to mention the $3 they borrow for every $1 they collect) on past contributors to SS that are now retired along with all the other entitlement spending.

And for the final indignity, there is no way I will ever see a dime of that $487K because I have been responsible and productive and will have way too many other retirement assets so my benefits will be means tested away. I know it, I accept it, there's no other way. So in essence I will have pissed away $2.9M (my $487K that grew from my investments) and will also have to pay much higher income taxes in the future to keep SS solvent.

GF, sometimes it is better to remain silent than to expose ignorance in all its glory. You or I would be in prison if we ran a retirement plan like the government runs social security and that is a fact. Why you accept something that is certainly not moral for our government to do to its people is beyond me, especially given it would be illegal if you or I did it.
