I would like to see Graveyard Island cleaned up and maintained throughout the year. I just think this is a great piece of history on Lake Martin as well as I think it would be respectful to the people that lie there to keep there final resting place clean. First off I would like to know who owns the island to make sure that it is okay do clean the island up. As far as I know it would be Alabama Power but I want to be sure its not privately owned. I wouldn't mind going out there and cleaning up a little bit with a weedeater and a little bit of RoundUp. If anyone is interested in working on this project please let me know and we can see what we can get going.

I notice the island is described as "is home to a small county graveyard". I would assume a call to the tax assessor in the county would be a great start to establish ownership.
