I can't say that I am surprised about the news just based on the general economic climate I am seeing in my business and our industry in general. Unemployment (U-2) is up to 8.3% despite yet another 150,000 Americans totally giving up on finding a job. This is the longest stretch above 8% in the history of this country so Oblamer can at least take satisfaction in beating FDR in one category. Even the worthless one Jimmy Carter and his incompetence couldn't match that feat. However, the real unemployment number U-6 is totally dismal at 14.9% (off its high of over 17% but not improving). The only glimmer of hope was the increase in non-farm jobs to the highest level in 5 months. Let's hope for the sake of out of work Americans that this trend continues. Of course, this is truly a case of dumbing down expectations as the average monthly jobs added during true recoveries (i.e., when we have a Republican President) is usually in the several hundred thousand range. So Oblamer's job growth out of this recession is around 1.7% versus Bush 43's almost 3%, Bush 41/Clinton's 3.6% and Reagan's almost 9%. Looking at it another way, even at 150,000 new jobs that barely keeps up with our population growth. Headed to Chick Fil A for a tasty lunch.....no, not a free water and then spewing hate toward a nice young lady. I like my job and if I ever did something so disgusting I would fire myself. I only hope Adam Smith sends me his resume. I have a nice circular file that I keep under my desk for just that very occasion.

Because we have a relief rally because the news was "not as bad" as expected after 4 bad down days ... now it is positive?

The rate rose to 8.3%, hours worked declined, household survey shows 191,000 fewer people working, 41 months with unemployment above 8%, long term unemployment highest in the history of the country, average hourly earnings declined again.

REALLLY GREAT NEWS.   Tell us how the middle class has benefitted under Oblamer and why they would want 4 more years of such a disaster?   He is an "experiment" that failed miserably.   What a turd.   Maybe he can join Micheele on another vacation and waste more tax payer dollars ... of couse if it does not get in the way of a golf match or campaign fund raiser.   We know he is too busy to meet with his job council or actually demonstrate some leadership.

Even though the numbers are not good at all. But even so, you know as well as I that the markets move based on performance relative to expectations and not the reality of the situation. That is why when companies announce relatively strong earnings but below expectations their stock tanks. Such is the market and I would not want to take much comfort in a good day, especially a Friday in the summer when volumes are way down. The fact is that unemployment levels from every month of Oblamer's presidency has been above 8% for the first time ever in our history!! Is your glass half empty or half full?

Yep, Cat fixed it up for me and I am hoping to burn some gas.  By the way, when he finished fixing my wedge he tried to talk his guys into painting it pink before giving it back to me.  That would have been dang funny and I would have left it pink for a long time.  They were just too busy to humor him.

You gonna be at your place this weekend or sweating it out in Atlanta?
