Hey GF, we were told to be happy about the July 3 BLS report because the numbers dropped 5K.  But compared to the previous weeks revised figures, we went UP about 30K?  Can you 'splain this?  BTW, hope you get to enjoy a global warming induced soggy 4th of July!

July 3, 2013:
In the week ending June 29, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 343,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 348,000.

June 28, 2013:
In the week ending June 23, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 313,000, a decrease of 13,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 326,000.

So, 313,000 - 343,000 = a decrease in unemployment of 5,000.

Or an increase in unemployment of 30,000.

Thanks for updating the numbers. I, like you, hate to see increasing unemployment numbers. It is a strange economy as employment  increases and the FED stops pumping money into the system, the market will drop as interest rates rise. Your portfolio will take a beating when uemployment is reduced and the economy recovers to the point the FED stops pumping. Do you want your stocks to increase in value or the jobs numbers to increase???

Have a great 4th.

Hey GF, maybe you can explain the rise in stock values when the Fed wasn't pumping cash to prop up a lousy economy......oh wait a second, the economy wasn't lousy. You have a choice here......encourage economic growth through lower taxes and regulations or go to war against businesses and job producers and thereby require the Fed to artificially prop up the stock market. As for me, I'll go with the latter any day but I then again I am not economically illiterate. Works every time it's been tried by why let reality get in the way of a good socialistic fantasy that has never worked. Ask for a refund GF, your govt educator union thugs have failed you.....

In the long term, I'll go with the former and you go with the latter. We will just have to disagree.

No surprise. It's a left wing nut libtard attribute that always wants to do what never works. I'm sure you're grateful for the rest of us that make it possible for you to live in a world of fantasy.
