McCain had to be upset with this entire episode as he is a decent person and above this type race baiting.

A Republican campaign worker who told police she was assaulted by a man angered by a John McCain sticker on her car admitted she made up the report, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, assistant police chief said Friday.

Richard said the woman had described her alleged attacker as an African-American, 6 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build and short dark hair, wearing dark clothing and shiny shoes.

Before the revelation that the report was false, McCain spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker said that McCain and running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin "spoke to the victim and her family after learning about the incident."

The Obama campaign also had issued a statement wishing the woman a "speedy recovery."

GF, you don't want to get into this battle by calling this a "Republican" myth because I will take a myth by some disturbed youong lady over the crimes of the Democrat party. Want to go for it? I challenged you to a gaffe contest with Palina nd Biden and you ran away. I now challenge you to a similar contest where you ascribe the actions of individuals to the party. It is a fact that the Republicans are the party of high moral and ethics while the democrats are stealing the election with the behavior of ACORN. I think the odds are stacked and I will surely lose. So, rather than go through the weekend fighting a battle that I have no chance of winning, i will accept defeat graciously to fight another day.

I have to admit given Joe's tendency for gaffes it was not much of a contest. Likewise I would cede to you in a malapropism contest with W and just about any other politician. Some fights are definitely worth walking away from.....
