a 10 day bout of gastroenteritis. Rooney, what are you thinking? How can you disgrace the revered Black and Gold like this?

I heard about it already and am disgusted. I thought western PA was full of racists and rednecks. Even more disturbing than the loss to the Giants. Arrest warrant for the offensive line for conspiracy to commit murder is being sworn out by Ben this week.

I used to live in Pittsburgh and have always been a Steelers fan ..... no more. I think Art Rooney lost it in his old age.

Art passed away a while ago and it is Dan Rooney, his son. As you know from living in Pittsburgh this is a heavy Democrat area so it is no surprise. Just a kick in the private parts for those of us who are conservative and Steeler's fan. I will have to avoid listening to Hugh Hewitt for a while as he is a Browns fan and already disses Steeler fans.

You are absolutely right about Art. I forgot he passed. I guess I forget how old I am ... when I saw that picture I could not believe Dan Rooney was that old. That is what Art looked like when I lived there in the late 70's when the Steelers dominated everyone.

Everytime I see the 3 of you posting, I think of 3 Angry White Guys. That picture is so touching to those of us who are progressive in our views. Thanks so much and I do beleive you have earned the right to now be, hereafter, referred to as the 3 Wisemen.

Art would have been puffing on that big cigar! With the other Rooney brothers being told to sell their shares because of their business interests that the NFL frowns upon, I bet they have alot to lose in new capital gains taxes if they sell during an Obama presidency.

GF, its always a pleasure to have you weigh in on our conversation. Be very careful when it comes to messing with three Steeler's fans from racist western PA. We can take a lot, including insulting Iron City beer, but if you are not a Browns or Bengals fan and want to give us a hard time you are skating on very thin ice.

Valuation estimates

My best friends went to college with Dan Rooney, Jr. Apparently the brothers on the way out are claiming a valuation of the franchise of over $1B. Hard to imagine for such a small market. Really puts the remaining Rooney's in a bind because even before the credit meltdown I can't imagine the casg flow justifying a loan to take the brothers out at that valuation.
The Rooney family earns every penny of what they get for the team . They have kept it a family business for a lot longer than the others. I hope they can hold on.
