Thanks for sharing. It definitely points out who is to blame for the mess and which party expressed the concerns. Is was socialist thinking that brought us this mess and now we may have much more of this radical and illogical thinking for 4 more years.
God help this country. The party that created this mess will have all the power to push through more of this garbage and dig us in an even deeper hole.

Honestly, this just is more affirmation that BO doesn't know what he's talking about. Everything is the 'evil' Republicans' fault. Yeah, right.
Anyone who knows diddley about economics knows that what we are experiencing now is the result of policies from, at a minimum, 10-12 years ago. Neither Republicans nor Democrats are off the hook on this one.

The lunacy is that Obama tried to tie this to Bush's fiscal policy of the last 8 years. Look how far back the seeds were sown on this. The sheeple bought Obama's theory hook, line, sinker because the media failed to call him on it. It was too easy to believe the Messiah. Just like the media failed to call him on gun rights, spreading the wealth, infanticide, his relatives living in squallor, his ties to terrorists, the radical influence of Wright, and now the coal fiasco. Just the fact that any American can pull the lever for this individual that we literally know nothing about except rhetoric is absolutely frightening.

Good article. I wonder why Rick Davis, Mccains Campaign Manager, was a lobbyist from late 2005 until August 2008 for Freddy Mac for $15,000 per month. Why would someone of his character lobby for those scumbags? Was he lobbying against stronger regulation? Stranger how the smell of cash can cause even a Republican with high values to lobby for Barney's baby. If he had strong convictions as a Republican that Freddy Mac was out of control then why represent them? From the article, the facts were quite convincing unless one had their head in the sand.
Trying to suggest that his firm and not Davis received the money is inaccurate as he has an equity interest in the firm that carries his name. If he were a Democrat, it would be another case of liberal politics. I wonder if any Republican finds it rather sleazy??

There you go again.... GF, I admire your ability to try to deflect from the point of the entire piece. It is a damning indictment of Democrats key role in the current credit crisis through their intervention when Republicans tried to fix a looming disaster. Whether or not Rick Davis lobbied for Fannie or Freddie is immaterial. If he did, he was obviously ineffective in swaying Republicans in Congress and the Bush administration because they attempted on several occasions to fix the problem only to be blocked by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Maxine Waters. Its a nice try but the fact remains, the current economic crisis was created by the very same arsonists that now claim to want to "fix" the financial system.
It defies common sense and their prescriptions will be designed to buy votes, to increase the size, scope and intrusiveness of the federal government and will contain multitudes of unintended consequences that will be damaging to our economy and the very people they profess to want to help. Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem!

I was going to have a similar response but I gave up on GF, he spins everything and has demonstrated he is only capable of understanding his own biased view while, as you point out, ignore the facts and change the discussion to something that misses the whole point of the discussion. he has done this so often, it is not even worth trying to explain to him. He only winds up making a bigger fool out of himself. very unfortunate he can not just look at the bigger picture and admit the error of the ways of his party and the damage it has created.

"Further, and missing from the Times' reporting, Mr. Davis has never -- never -- been a lobbyist for either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Mr. Davis has not served as a registered lobbyist since 2005."
Interesting that the NYT can go into this much investigative depth, get it wrong, yet is lame when it comes to providing any substantive insight into ANYTHING controversial regarding Obama.
