Trump gets a SOTU bump

Not only was the SOTU approval close to a record low, but the typical poll bump that a President gets did in fact happen...except it was to the benefit of Trump. And this with wall to wall govt media fawning over his "fiery" speech and how he showed the American people that he was just fine. What he showed them is what a senile old man hopped up on a double dose of Adderal is like and they went to hide theirs from Grandpa. RFLMAO!
Folks, I am going to say this again, I do not see how Democrats let Biden run in 2024. I just cannot believe they will let it happen. He'll go away some time before the convention, over Dr. Jill's dead body if necessary. Ejecting Brandon is not the big problem, it's not going to help to move Kamala in as the nominee because she will be even worse against Trump.

For the life of me I just can't understand how someone could vote for Biden!? Even TDS sufferers would just not vote in the past.
seems our "leaders" just are satan possessed and hate everything and want everyone as miserable as they are. As a geriatric voter I would love a little sanity before I check out. Of course they say 70 is the new 50! lol

You have to break the U.S. down to understand why 50% +/- will vote for Biden. First there are the true believers, hard core leftists who hate this country, want to see it destroyed from within, etc. That's maybe 15% +/- of the electorate. These people believe men can be women and women can be men, being white is de facto evidence of racism and privilege, abortion/infanticide/euthanasia are good for the environment, illegal immigration brings more socialist voters, etc. They would love to vote for Mao or Stalin if they could but will settle for Brandon. They are hard core leftists that have sold their souls to Satan and would gladly go the route of fascism if they could get their way.....and they would have a smile on their face when they send millions to the gulag for "reeducation".
Next we have left-leaning liberals. They don't hate the country, they just think it was wrong in its founding by a bunch of old, white slaveowners. They trust government more than their own judgement, are suspicious of big business and the wealthy and think taxes are too low, corporations pay taxes instead of the consumer, abortion should be legal (but they would probably accept some small limitations). They are another 15% or so of the electorate. Lots of liberal, college educated women and soy-boy, whiney men in this group. It would take alot to get them to move to the GOP because they are more concerned with how their friends think than to think on their own.
Then we have the next 15% or so which are the truly low information voters. They may lean a little left or a little right but they believe whatever it is they read on Tik Tok, Fakebook, Instagram, etc. These are the man in the street interviewees who don't know there are three branches of govt, have no idea who their Rep is, let alone their Senator and think Kamala Harris is President. They vote the way Stephen Colbert or Jimmy Fallon tell them and they think the gov't media is balanced and FoxNews is evil incarnate. They are truly clueless, wandering through life worried about their score on some xBox game more than anything else. But some small percentage of them can be swayed to vote for someone other than Brandon. They are the ones lamenting the cost of everything, their inability to afford their rent or ever buy a home in their videos...but they still end up blaming Republicans because they want the love and devotion of other low information voters.
Then there is the "independent" voters at around 5% that have no real core values and probably vote based on who suits their fancy that day. They are swayable but hard to catch by the GOP because of the media they consume.

That was quite the analysis of the US population. If I were to believe that analysis, then we are doomed. Should we throw in the towel since the Republic depends on patriotism and the optimism of success in all we do. My time on this earth is limited and perhaps that's for the best. My belief of the good in people and Gods desire for His people gives me hope for this country.
fast forward 10 years and the people will be controlled and too late to change minds.

There's still hope...a glimmer anyway

I think neither of us will be around to see how the story ends but there is still hope. I see lots of pushback on things like DEI, wokeness, the truth about trans ideology, parents beginning to understand what the schools are doing to our children, the scam that is higher education, etc. We've always been a divided country swinging from lunacy to sanity.....we're just in a lunacy phase right now.
Besides, I have the same faith that you do and understand that we are in a valley of tears as our temporary home and our ultimate home is elsewhere. My goal is to do what little I can to help others achieve the ultimate prize and not worry too much about the state of the world. Heard a talk by a priest who reminded us that there are things we can control, things we can influence and things out of our control that we worry about. He said the things we can control are very small and mostly it's just ourselves. The things we can influence are larger but not much (our family, friends, people we work with, our community, our vote, etc.). Then there are the things totally out of our control which is massively larger but the area we spend the most time worrying about. That worry will not add a day to our lives nor will it change anything out of our control, so as he said, just stop it. Sage advice.
