I have three or four oak trees that appear to be dying and need to be cut. Anyone interested in some firewood? With proper rope manning they can be felled fairly easily. If interested, shoot me an email.

Not so fast, unless you just want to get rid of the trees. A fungus of some sort has infected many oaks this year that makes the leaves curl and appear that the tree is dying. Happens on and off the lake. According to a county agent, this happens occasionally and most trees recover the next year. If it continues for 3-4 years the tree may die. Could be a function of all the rain we've had.

No, I am ready to get rid of them. Part of one has hit my truck twice. They would make some pretty good firewood if someone is willing to come and get them.

How big are these trees?

Hit your truck twice?? I hope you mean that branches fell and hit the truck, not that the truck's operator had "misjudged" clearance twice... Bad, bad trees. :-) Maybe you can get AlGor to send a Government tree Dr. out to save them rather than just destroying them and allowing someone to emit carbon di into the atmosphere by burning them - get on board with progress L&G.

Would take at least a 16 inch saw blade. They are your good moderate size oak trees, not Huge, but manly. I would want to be there when they came down, and I can man the rope(s) to help insure proper fall. Also, I will move the limbs once you get the logs.

Are you saying that if I had an electric car the limbs would not have fallen on it? Unfortunately, I had the truck parked under one of the trees when it decided to discard a huge limb. Did I learn a lesson? No. I parked there again.
