Every working male faces the threat of harassment charges everyday. Mr. Cain's casual misdirects and omissions gave this story life.

I agree on both statements. Sexual harassment does not mean what 95% of the public thinks, it usually has little to do with sex. It does usually have to do with a female trying to take advantage of gender to gain an unfair advantage over an individual or company. Cain was an easy target I'm sure. Now "she" is trying to milk the situation for some mo money.

A friend of mine who had a small manufacturing company in B'ham related the following story to me:
He had an opening for a salesman when a woman, who was totally unqualified, applied. She threatened to file a sexual harasment suit if she didn't get the job. Aganist his better judgement, he gave her a chance and as expected she proved not to be up to it. She was removed and quit. She then filed a sexual harasment suit against him. At a meeting with her lawyers he was told that the whole thing could be settled for $12,000. She would get $9000 and the lawer would get $3000 otherwise he would be dragged endlessy through the courts. Gritting his teeth, he paid.
It would be much more honest if they just used a pistol to rob with!

That is an effective tactic, in any work place, whether small or large. Faced a similar situation in the PNW about 6 years ago, with a female employing alledging sexual discrimination. No basis for the claim at all, fat performance and re training documentation file, yet, following consult with attornies, corporate legal settled on a $20k "go away" payment. She had to go with the discrimination claim as she looked like Jaband the Hutt, and had the personality of the morning phlegm hack.
