Don't you find it interesting that Obama can go on National TV and berate the Congress on gun control but:

- not comment on the crash of the C130 in Afghanistan and the loss of lives

- did the Taliban shoot down this aircraft

- Russia's attract on non ISSA combatants

- Iran's troops on the ground in Syria

- Taliban's recent capture of an Afghasitan city

No, not at all.  He or the White House has addressed all the other events in proper context.  Do you think he should not address a mass killing?

The point of the speech was the mass killings.  It was clear that he was quite upset about it.

Right now he is doing a presser and is talking about the economy.

Generally speaking it would be the SecDEF that would speak in the daily presser about a military loss.

He spoke extensively about Russia in Syria at the UN the other day.

Obama is having a presser right now, and is addressing Russia in Syria.

Since Waterph has not answered my question (SOP for this rightwingers on this forum) doesn't mean he thinks a college shooting is just not that worthy of concern.  To be sure, it is no longer uncommon in this nation of gun nuts, but it's still a concern for most of us.

By the way, did you hear about "the good guy with a gun" who was on campus but did not take out his gun because he wisely decided he would probably be shot by the cops just arriving on the scene.

It is a fact that in many of the shootings over the last 20 years there were "good guys with guns" on site but not a single one of the shootings was disrupted or prevented.

So the solution is take away (confiscate) all the guns?

!. Not a time to talk about gun control. Just like talking about drunk drivers to someone who has just recently lost their child to a drunk driver.Families want to hear a message from the President on their losses.

2. He was angry, out of control.. Families want to hear a message of compassion. Voice tone is important.

3. How many messages to families in Chicaago on gun control. ZERO!

4. Do you even understand the meaning of SOP? How does that relate to a forum contributor that you disagree with

Where did I ever any such statement or imply such a belief?  NO, I don't want to conficate a gun from a responsible owner.  I do know this screed "that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is more good guys with guns" is BS.  I do, along with 85% to 90% want ALL gun sales to require a through background check.  I do want some sense of reason to come to the firearms issue.  I do want the members of congress to begin to listen to ALL the people instead of the NRA.  I do think it is the height of stupidity for congress to amke it illegal for the CDC to even study gun violence.  I do think that a nut legally being able to purchase 14 guns is NUTS period!  I do not think owning a gun makes you a gun-nut but owning a gun and thinking it is your right to take it loaded absolutely anwhere anytime without regards to what everybody else around you thinks does make you a gun-nut in particular and just a run of the mill nut in general!!

If that make me a libtard, socialist, Obama lover in your eyes then I gladly accept the label you assign me even if it is inaccurate.

You have let your anger get the best of you again.

Think.

Slowly.

Logically??

Logic doesn't always follow the transitive property

What "sense of reason" concerning the gun debate are you championing?

Reason would be having congress see the fact that reasonable people who are not left wing crazies are concerned that the unreasonable demands of a private group are listened to while they are not!  I know that in the middle of Alabama there is little or no concern about the proliferation of guns, but you are in an atypical environment.  Ask your self, if reasonable gun regulations that say limited the number of guns a person could own saved just one life would it be worth it.  Now ask yourself, what if that life save was your child or grandchild.

So what is a safe number of guns any one person should own?

Should we have similar limits on the number of cars people own (they cause a lot of deaths too) - you know, to save the life of my child or grandchild.......

Interview with AF Vet John Parker (36). Oct 2 online edition International Business Times.

Thanks to a court ruling Oregon colleges must allow concealed guns on Campus.  Mr Parker stated in an interview he was on campus with a loaded weapon.  He was not close to the shooting and by the time he got closer to the scene the police were arriving and he decided that he would put himself in danger if he drew his gun.  Smart guy.

that Parker made the correct decision.  The purpose of being armed is to protect yourself and those in you immediate vicinity from an attack.  Just think what would have happened if the vet who got shot 7 times had had access to a weapon.  He very probably would have saved all those killed and injured by the perp.  The point of having a weapon is to have it immediately available, not stored at home or in your car, etc.
