Why is Harwell being held down 6' this year?  Looks like the wonderful Corp of Engineers is screwing the Harwell lovers....

is holding Hartwell down so they can build new docks in Savannah without having to deal with rain river flow...kind of selfish toward the thousands of Hartwell users.....all for CoE convenience....

Not sure if that's a factor but holding Hartwell 7-8 ft under full pool for flood control doesn't make much sense. The dam can take 5 ft over full pool anyway (see past levels). I think its for power, but I have emailed my Anderson State rep for an explanation.  Holding the lake down 7-8 ft in a non drought condition also damages the shoreline with erosion, creates silt (not good for our water) and makes rif-raff investments totally ineffective. The USACE needs to provide some answers!
