I think it was time.  Eight seasons and he didn't find a way to bring it.  Understand that Lane Kiffen is interested, but my money is on Steve Sarkasian, the Alabama Offensive Coach, if he wants to leave Alabama.  We can't cry too hard for Gus, because his buyout is in the order of $21M, and given the number of coaches being relieved, he won't have a hard time finding another job.

better find a QB at the same time--my money is that the AD wants a man of color--James Franklin from Penn St via vandy; Sark or Cristobol are in line for when Nick retires--& Gus better hide that $$ from Biden ! personally id go to Maui & buy a golf course-only in America can you get paid millions for poor performance

That's interesting.  It makes sense that they wouldn't let Malzhan go, without being in discussions with his successor.  I think they need someone that is a good recruiter to convince the talent to come to Auburn.  They say that is one of the things about Saban - that he is a strong recruiter.
