I wonder if this current lake level spike is the greatest fall/winter spike we have ever had. The lake is currently less than a foot from full pool. I wish I could be over there this weekend to see the lake at this level at this time of the year.

I can't remember it being at this level in the middle of November. Better get here in a hurry, they are opening two gates at Martin Dam at 8 this morning. Not sure how much they will lower.

Looks like from looking at historical lake level graph on Alabama Powers website which shows water elevation since 1980 the highest level at this time of year was about 486.5.

However in sometime since 1980 in December the lake level shows 490.

The weekend was unbelievable. The sunsets were great on Friday & Saturday and the water was almost full but there was a lot of debris in it. I think it would be an economic boom for the lake community if we could have the water up most of the year. Maybe the merchants can get APCO to consider leaving the water up a bit longer. It is the first time in a while we could enjoy the lake in November.
