A Cooking and Recipe Forum.
Now it has gone to Dogs nad Cats.
Time to get things smoking again and get rid of these turkeys.
Come on Mack, Ulysses and Lil Talsi, quit tending the gardens and get back to cooking.
|
needs to start a pets and critters forum.
As for cookin', we made up a big batch of country fried steak, gravy, and mashed potatoes last night. You made me hungry, so I think I'll go heat up some leftovers..... maybe fry up a green tomato for a side and slice a fresh hot banana pepper to throw in the gravy.

that meal was the "standard" at Momma's table for Sunday Dinner when I was growing up. Loved it then and now, but never been able to come anywhere near duplicating it myself. Her fried chicken either!! Mav, we stopped cooking after reading the Off Topic on ObamaCare, about all the bad personal habits. Nothing but organic tofu and distilled water for us in the future.

In Coosa County, "organic tofu" = boston butt, brisket and filet mignon. And you cannot get any more organic than McGill and Wareggle's ATB's. And what did you say about a "distilled" drink?

They both taste like chicken....
|
I just put two on the BGE.....they are all perched up on a beer can of brew and spices, and Chris cut a green limb from the apple tree for added smoke flavor.

Always moist and flavorful. But>>. There is something kinky about it, as it sits on a grill,,,,, ya know?? Looks like a Sumo wrestler posed for a KamaSutra photo session?? Just sayin....
|
it's my wife's favorite and we have a deal that Chris or I cook them if she helps with the messy work on the country fried steaks (which she doesn't eat). She always rips the wings off em' before I can get em' wrapped.....the wingless critters are now snuggled up in their foil blanket for cooling and moisture control.

Some specialty shops are carrying certain cuts of Tofu. Like FilletFu??? Boston FuButts?? Then there are always FuBabies? AKA FuBacks in some markets. (the organic bones need some work). The "AllNatural" distilled organic liquids are rather hard to find in Coosa. However, the mountain springwaters of Northern Talledega County seem to be a good source. BYOJ Ah well, need to start the grill. Cooking FuStrips over a warm 200ma black solar panel.

that people that enjoy good food and like to cook, most often like animals too.
You can't really knock tofu too much. It takes on the taste of whatever you season it with, and I have to say, I've sometimes loved stirfry with tofu, cooked with ginger and garlic.
And for those of you who love that country fried steak and fried chicken, have you had your triglycerides checked lately? It's very much on my mind, because last week I had mine checked and was appalled at the results.
Right now, I'm cooking lots of fish. Today I'm doing a greek snapper (inspired by an excellent meal at Brite Star in Bessemer) and a ratoutille (eggplant, onions, tomato and zucchini).
